Royal Botanical Gardens

This is one of the gated entrances to Melbourne's extensive botanical gardens. It has a wide variety of trees and other plants and flowers arranged ornamentally around lakes and lawns. There is no statuary or other public art. It closes at night. These Royal botanic gardens rest on a traditional camping and meeting place for the local custodians of the area – the Boonwurrung and Woiworung people and guided tours by aboriginal people are available.Posted by Picasa
