Opposition appears to be building against further erosion of parklands in St Kilda according to this ad from the "Emerald Hill Weekly". In an accompanying article Port Phillip Council Mayor, Janet Bolitho is quoted as saying "the area would remain public open space - just maybe not green"

Maybe they should have been a bit more vocal during the many months last year that the proposal was open for public submission. The many many pro-skate-park-people certainly were there.

Maybe they should have been listened too more closely - more importantly, the facade of facile consultation which goes on in Port Phillip is no substitute for sound long term development policy. Hopefully the State Government will prevent annexure of this part of the Park by the Council - and direct Parks Victoria to replant the trees which have been removed from this part of the Park
