Intently waiting for his owner perhaps? I love all the detail in this photograph, not just the dog but the old door and the wrought iron railings and the old tiles and the lady reading and on and on - yet the dog sits alone, without that clutter. Really works.

I notice the door looks as if it has had the door locks replaced more than once.
Also the dog is perfect in this picture.

Oh my god. That's my dog, waiting for me outside Cavallero. And the 'lady' reading in the background is my handsome partner.
